Will my mint take over.

I have mint planted in a deep garden bed and would like to plant chives, oregano, and thyme in the bed. Will the mint overwhelm the other plants or will they share the space?

You have to be careful with mint because it will spread like crazy.

Quick answer, yes it will overwhelm, no they won't share. I have a little two foot square bed in the paving by the back door for mint, otherwise it is best in a good big pot. If you take it out don't leave any little chips of root behind, they will grow.

After thought, If you grow different 'flavour' mints keep them separate, Otherwise they lose their pineapple, lemon, or whatever flavour and all end up common mint.
