Hi,

Can someone answer? I spent lots of time researching and can't get any clear answers. Mint has these white spots. Some bottom leaves are yellow and fall off but it's normal I think as I have a lot on mint. It grows great. But what are those spots? I continue eating eat. See some pictures under microscope, too. These do not come off if I wipe it off. It doesn't look as rust or powdery mildew to me. Maybe I'm wrong. Thanks!

What has happened is an insect, mite, worm, snail or pillbug has chewed off spots of the epidermis of the top of the leaf. You can see this in the picture of the bottom side of the leaf. And being in Dallas you have all of the above. Of all of the above pests, snails are least likely but possible. Pill bugs the most likely. To kill everything except snails spray with spinosad or Spinosad Soap. To kill snails scatter SluggoPlus around the base of the plants. SluggoPlus also kills pill bugs.
