Chicks are getting big. Hatcher flew off and within 2 minutes came back with food. This hatcher must have flea affliction - it keeps scratching and priming and something seems to be wrong with its right leg.

The first time I have seen 2 ospreys sitting down, but alas, the eggs have not been hatched..

These two seem to be much smaller than the other pair in the UK!

It's pelting down in Rutland and yet the chicks are exposed to elements.

I begin to think the Calgary Osprey is trying to hatch rubber eggs:eek::eek:. No movement at all.

I believe the Canadian ospreys have come up with the goods. Wish there were more light. Can't see what's going on, but the hatcher keeps looking at the bottom of the nest.

Did you? I saw the hatcher agitating on the brood and saw something round. Then there wasn't sufficient light. Crikey, it's only 5am in Canada!

I have left the page open so that I can see better in the first light.

@MaryMary Shame this is not HD and the chicks are all in a blur, but still, to have 3 chicks is a blessing. Funny how these parents were so late with their chicks and yet they have three. I had a peek at the UK Rutland ones, only one bird there and I couldn't even tell if it was a parent or a chick!

for you, @MaryMary if you have time to have a look!
