Hi,

I’m new to this forum, and need help! I had my garden renovated in April 2023. I had 8 Limelight Hydrangeas planted and they have grown about 5 or 6 feet tall. No blooms this year. The question I have is when and how far down to prune them for the Winter months???

Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

You don't have to do anything now you can wait until just before spring so the plants will look natural all Winter. When you do prune, prune back the stems to above a fat bud leaving the bud.

Agree. Paniculata type Hydrangeas flower on new wood, so they are pruned in Feb/March to encourage new growth. Old fashioned Mophead types flower on old wood so pruning them is different.
