Hi... I am fairly new to gardening, but I recently planted 5 new hydrangeas. They did fairly well the first week, but since have started to die. I did my best to condition the soil to create better drainage, but I might not have done enough. I believe they are suffering from root rot, but I need help diagnosing and hopefully fixing the situation.
Please help:) Thanks!

Welcome to the forum @Kmurph08 . Hydrangeas like to grow in a shady place, and prefer lots of water. Those roots look ok to me.
Maybe they had too much sun
If they are in full sun, it would be an idea to give them a trim, and find some shade for them....water well, then they may pick up.

Tetters is right about needing a lot of water, your hydrangeas are thirsty. Most hydrangeas can grow in full sun to partial shade but need water. I would remove the stones because they are solar heat collectors and will hold heat and cook the water out of the ground and the plant.
