Morning all dull and dark but they say dry and 9c could be a lot worse.
We are bright here and yes, such a relief not to have rain again. We have had no frost on the lawns, just a lot of condensation on windows.

Morning cold and cloudy, not much to do today might go and prune the grape vine and the wisteria if I can be bothered.

@alp According to last season Chelsea had the second highest stadium fill capacity at 99.2% ( west ham 1st ) and Arsenal are the most expensive team to watch ( Chelsea 2nd )

Yes, I wonder if I need to trim my young wisterias. They are only young and small. Wonder if it is worthwhile.

Getting a bit colder in the afternoon. Been removing woodchip wallpaper. Not so difficult and actually enjoying it, but the hallway is too tall for me. Watching Medical Detectives. Very good programmes.

Pochettino was rather sweet to play Harry Kane for 15 minutes so that Tranmere fans could see him. I don't remember seeing any big guns playing in the Arsenal and Liverpool FA match! Nice man who speaks very fast! LOL!

Cold enough, but not chilly!

Got up 7.05 am. And just finished my housework. More drudgery! Will go to the other gc to see what is going to be reduced to £1.99. Quite looking forward to it as it was closed last time we went. No condensation on the bathroom window pane, so it can't be that cold.

All is not lost! Nice to see no rain. Sunshine is enough to bring a smile to my face.

Did start to watch a bit of Luther, but it was dark, dark, dark .. and I can see anything in the dark and of course there is the gratuitous thumping.. Not my type.

Will go and trim the bigger wisteria.

If I could find the pollen, will hand pollinate this one with a white anemone!

Do they know it's winter? Photos show how flowers are blooming months early after mild autumn and chill-free December
  • Colourful photographs sent in by readers show blooming flowers in December
  • Blooms out several weeks early include primrose, daffodils and snowdrops
  • Others, such as scabious and poppies, have been in flower since the summer

I actually saw a bumble bee around my chrysanthemum!

Whole day stripping more woodchip wallpaper! What a nightmare! Funny that I am feeling a bit more confident. In 6 days times, I can accept viewings again. Keep my fingers cross.

Bought another Martagon lily for £1.25 reduced to 75%. Not the prettiest. Called Pink Morning.

Some other photos show pink?

Hope they look like these - just love pink! But the package cover looks more dodgy orange!

Good morning and it seems to be a mildish day - not a lot of condensation. A lot of stripping to do and then painting and tidying up. The living room is just so full of stuff!

Another grey day. Yesterday, it was supposed to be sunny, not a ray of sunshine! Let's hope the met office is wrong! Going to be very busy ...

Been a very busy day. Rewarded myself with yet another almond gelatelli icecream. One a day! Still perspiring from all the hard work. Hopefully, I can paint something tomorrow!

Thought I was going to have a heart attack. A bit tight in the chest and really didn't want to get up and after 45 minutes of quick work, now perspiring.

Raining! Thank heavens .. Nice to have a bit of rain as it has been about 10 days without. Wouldn't it be nice if rain and heat comes at regular intervals. Back to more work.

That doesn't sound good alp , you may of been having a panic attack ? awful day today rain and windy

Seen a job come up at a garden centre I go to often , they are looking for a plants person, tempted to apply its one of the jobs I've always been interested in. But not sure it would mean I would lose the jobs permanently working for my dad / when he retires and if I did get the job at GC and didn't like it I can't go back to my old job. The pay at the GC will be more as well and over a year unlike now

Yes, Perki. I must be a bit more careful. I think I must have overworked for the past 3 days and gee, today has been another killer. Just had a shower and still haven't finished getting rid of the woodchips. Now that the woodchip boards are removed (They are rather thick and can cut you), there are some cracks and one let in very cold air. Tomorrow I am going to view a house with 4 bedroom with the kitchen under polycarbinate panel roof! How weird! But for that money for a detached house, I need to have a look. But the garden is only 70 feet.

Perki - have a go and when they are really interested in hiring you, you can think about it. Perhaps they can let you off one or two slack days. Shame not to put your feet in the door. Try it for a while. I like my posh gc, but when viewing a house, the lady owner said that nursery worked her husband to the bone and he lost quite a few stones. I hope you apply for it and find out more about it.

Talking about a job in a gc! Ex's cousin moved to Wales and whilst shopping in a gc, one lady asked for advice and his cousin offered advice. On the spot, she was offered a job. When she moved, she had a whole lorry load of orchids! I bet that was an orchid question! LOL!

Boy, I'm soooo tired - standing on a ladder the whole day. I'm afraid it's groundhog day again!

Woke up too late and missed my tumble drying session. The alarm has failed to work. Tonight, I have to use 2 and wash the whole thing again. Annoyed with myself.

Electrician will be in tomorrow and today is the final push! Another day with the stripping knife! Will sow some broad bean tomorrow and do whatever recommended in the January calendar! Can't wait.
