Camping at night looking for dark skies, my wife prepare some coffee and pastries and sometimes hang out with me :D. I had the scope for 4 yrs but never got to use it seriously. This year I put more time into it and was able to take the Lagoon Nebula..This was taken July 17 from 12midnight to 3am...

Rey, my husband has a tripod and takes pictures of the moon in different phases, partial eclipses, and starry nights. He has some great photos, but none as wonderful as yours of the nebula.!

For folks that are lucky enough to have a dark sky(1/3 of population), If you can see the milky way with your bare eyes. This is where it is located :D.

Wow, what an incredible photo @Rey! We've got a telescope and attachment for my DSLR, but I've never got round to using it properly. I think I'd start with planets before progressing to things like nebulae though. What software did you use for the image?

I use sequence generator pro. Its a mono camera and I use 3 filters, hydrogen, sulfur and oxygen. I took about 40min total each filter. then I use Pixinsight to process each channel to form a color photo then finish it up in Lightroom..

My daughter and I went to Joshua Tree for their annual "Night Sky Festival" a few years ago. Joshua Tree has recently been designated as an International Dark Sky Park at the Silver Tier level by the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA).

It was a little cloudy but we saw some good stuff through the telescope. Once it clouded over they had recording of some of the deep they had recorded.

A park near us has a monthly sky viewing opportunity hosted by the local Astronomy Association.

Love the sky and space, one of the few tings that allows me to get lost in thought, it scale and scope boggles the mind.

Thank you for the topic and sharing :)
