As the title says, I'm looking for small plants to put out now to ensure that my garden bursts into life early in the season.

For early flowering I suggest bulbs. Snowdrops, Crocus, miniature Iris Reticulata and Chionodoxa. The only plant I can think of that will bloom fairly early is the natural Primrose, they bloom here from late March. As they mature they can be split up for more plants.

Hey there! I'm also gardening in Scotland, and I totally get your quest for early spring color and pollinators. For a burst of life, consider planting Crocus, Snowdrops, and Primroses. They're small but pack a punch in terms of adding vibrant hues and attracting those much-needed pollinators. Plus, they thrive in our cool and damp climate. Happy gardening! - Talha
