Well, Tuesday I went with my wife (a realtor) to show a house way out in the country. ALL the fields were COVERED in this plant (ALL flowering). It was at that point that the cobwebs cleared in my brain and I SUDDENLY realized that I have been "around" these rapeseed plants ALL my life (I was "brought up" in the country life) but these plants have NEVER been locally called rapeseed.....EVER. So I messaged a longtime farmer friend and asked him what it was called.......His answer: WILD mustard........

It is probably Mustard. They are also Brassicas and could very well get mixed in with Brussels Sprouts.

Wild mustard or Charlock is very similar, Tetters thought it might have been that too.

Possible Confusion
Other Brassicas, mainly mustards and rape.
Can look a little like Ragwort, pictured, but the smell of mustard should keep you safe.

Charlock isn't cultivated here, but Rape is on a large scale. Used to make bio fuel.

There's NO doubt in my mind that it IS Rape......but down here, in the DEEEEP South, it's "street name" is wild mustard.
