I know Peppers will cross pollinate.

We like Hot Peppers. If I plant Cayenne and Jalapeños close but not right together should they be ok for seed?

It is possible but not probable that the plants will cross pollinate and if this happens then the fruit grown this year will have cross pollinated seeds in them. And next year when you plant the seeds you may or may not have Caypenos.

I would give it a go, I do it with f1 hybrids that I know are not going to breed true. I reckon no one will hybridise something that is rubbish, both parents are probably pretty good. It doesn't always work out, but I get a lot of stuff that is quite usable, and you never know, one day maybe I'll strike gold.
