DIY Weed Killer...Does It Really Work?

Has anyone here tried any homemade recipe to make safe weed killer. ....did it work?
Most recipes I found call for salt, vinegar and water just different ratio.

Salt in the right situation works extremely well. I use it...vinegar works but I don't use it much myself.

I use vinegar and orange oil (D-limonene) mixed at a gallon of pickling vinegar (10%) and 2 oz of orange oil. Works very well especially if used in the heat of the day.
