But I do grow stuff you can eat -
I bet you ten quid to a bucket of shite that these pepper plants will have flowers on them at some point.
Strawberries are the swollen ovaries of flowers.
Artichokes, broccoli, cauliflowers all flowers
W"hat am I going to do with a bucket of shite?Haha, looks like someone won a bet! I think that OP was saying that he or she didn't grow flowers for decoration.
I did not know that viola and nasturtiums could be grown for salads.Lots of flowers are edible. I grow viola and nasturtiums for salads!
Fertilizer. But not on anything edible.W"hat am I going to do with a bucket of shite?
I shared that attitude for many years... but became enlightened. What I meant was I do not grow anything pretty in flowers, my chant is, if I cannot eat it, why grow it. ...
Marigolds attract pollinators to your garden and some limited insect repellant.
The African are best for border plants...the French marigolds are best for interplanting in garden, much smaller.Last year when I ordered my garden seeds I ordered a pack of marigold seeds for the above reason. But I know nothing about flowers so I got African Marigolds and planted them around randomly in one of my gardens.
