I have been wanting to try growing the akebia vine but never get around to it or at the time didn't know which variety to get. Then it's to late. However, I just found out that a few varities of passion fruit will grow in zone 5b. Now I am not sure which one to TRY and grow. Leaning towards the passion fruit.

Anyone out there grow one or the other? Maybe both? Any recommendations for zone 5b in a humid environment that has a bacterial spot infected environment.

I already have a structure that would work nicely.

Thanks,

Since Akebia vines are an invasive plant in many states, I vote for one of the temperate climate Passifloras, such as Passiflora incarnata.

If you find a seller of viable Passiflora incarnata seeds, I would love to be in the know, because I have not had luck yet finding any. Garden centers in my area sell the plants, but not the seeds.
