This sounds like a soil Ph problem. What is your soil Ph? If it is not between 6.0-6.5 you must amend the soil. If it is not the correct Ph the tree cannot uptake needed nutrientsIt was planted two years ago and the branches and trunk look good except one spot on the trunk where the bark is gone. The bark 'curves' into the trunk - I'll provide a pic tonight as soon as I get off work. My second cherry is starting to show the same symptoms, yellowing leaves and new growth leaves curling but has no open bark areas. Neither are oozing sap.
