Yoshino Cherry Tree Bark

So does the bark look ok, or might there be a issue it’s been really hot and humid this summer in PA with a lot of rain the leafs look great , but the bark doesn’t look like the root part either thx

Welcome JRFLHX. :)

Your tree is Prunus 'Yedoensis' or Yoshino Cherry. This is something I've not seen before on a Prunus and looks as though it's shedding it's top layer of bark. If your tree is healthy apart from this I'd leave it alone for the time being but keep an eye on it through the coming winter into next Spring.
