What is the best houseplant for my area/situation(see post)!

Hey everyone!

I am looking for the perfect indoor house plant for me, and I would love some advice.

I am in US hardiness zone 7-ish. In the winter my house gets down to 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and in the summer it gets up to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. My house is also quite dark. I don't have space for a large plant. Also, my budget is not very large. I already have a pothos/philodendron plant, but it isn't growing very much for some reason.

Any and all advice is appreciated!
