Lanceleaf Tickseed and Spiderwort are blooming throughout my native garden.

Blue Flag Iris blooms at the perfect time; just before surrounding foliage grows taller than it.

I bought this Indian Pink last month, and to my surprise it's about to bloom. The red color is surprisingly bright. I may have to move it after it seeds, because I'd like to put it somewhere where it's a little easier to see. This plant is on the top 10 list for native hummingbird attractors. It's right on the edge of being able to survive my winters, so I hope it does.

...and of course, my native garden is a huge attractor of damselflies. I always seem them or dragonflies sitting on the leaves of my native plants.

I always love your springtime posts with all your gorgeous native flowers.

I love my summertime posts better! :) Soon, my garden will be a sea of yellow, orange, and pink! Plus, the butterfly activity will be increasing throughout July and August.

No rush, though.

I can't believe we're already well into June and before you know it, Winter will be on its way again. I wish the warmer months would slow down a bit.

I'm jealous, your grass is so green and lovely. The whole yard is but I am trying to grow grass now so that's what I look at first. Welcome!

Here's my native garden every year since I started it in 2014.

It started as just 64 square feet and is now over 800 square feet!

I had about four or five native species when I started, now I have around 40 species, some that I didn't even know existed, like Bush's Coneflower.

split and added some hosta under the maple
Your garden and outside area look really inviting mg. I'm inspired by your hostas under the maple too. Mmmmmmm!! I'm sure I could incorporate your idea in my "orchard " area which actually consists of several very old gnarly not very productive plum trees and an apple tree. Originally the 3/4 acre block of land my place is on was part of an old orchard, hence my orchard area.

Thanks, Deb.
Just added some picket accent to the front of the place.
