Hope you are feeling better soon OB.
Thank you, feeling a bit better this morning, but had to go to the hospital for results, all clear, cancerous polyp completely removed and two scans showed nothing of concern elsewhere, must have shown that I hadn't felt great for a few days as the doctor said I looked frail, told him I hadn't been too well and he said he noticed I was holding the missus' arm, that was affection, I told him I managed a garden and he was most surprised. The missus asks me to do something now "Oh! I'm feeling a bit frail."
When we got home I emptied three HK buckets I had used last season down to the wood, mixed up a nice bit of compost, bone meal, Epsom salt and manure to top them up and then planted three new tomatoes I bought the other day, I am trying to build a collection of different ones I can save seed from, so I buy one of anything I haven't got and isn't a cherry or an f1. Found a Crimson Crush, supposedly totally resistant to blight, we shall see. Watered, they are promising rain soon, it is so needed, you can only water so much, everything in the greenhouse or containers comes first. Beginning to get a few strawberries, loads coming on, saw them for £4 a punnet in the hospital shop, mind, that's probably dear. Still I'm already getting one a day.

The first taste was passed with flying colors. Sweeter than typical zucchini and no bitter aftertaste.

Now I want to see how long it produces as we get into high temps of summer.
Thanks for the update! Watching with anticipation of good reports all the way through summer.

A dry day here is/was rare, we've had weeks/months of them already this year. Yesterday I did something I've not done for years - went out to smell the first rain in weeks! Lasted all of 10 minutes, but was quite heavy, dry again today.
Odd weather indeed. Seems to be all over. We are having droughts in the desert, normal 12" annual down to 2" 2 of last 3 years. Glad we irrigate from 465 ft aquafer.

Not a lot, we had in laws round, a very pleasant day, but I did manage to turn over a bit I have not planted in before. Only 4'x4' or so, I had a temporary compost heap on it and then chucked a barrow load of left over compost , just left on top for ages. When I got to turning it over it is pretty heavy clay, but it has some colour, not just yellow like some places. I have put a couple of rows of eight foot bamboos across it and when I have got them tied in and ship shape I'll plant climbing French beans and mulch them in. I have a surplus of beans, my first three plantings failed and when I saw a tray of plants in the farm shop I grabbed it. The fourth lot I planted that morning have now germinated. I think mice may have been my problem, the cat has been mooching round the greenhouse.
