Pictures?
TBH I have never even tried to work out how to swap pictures from phone to computer, let alone post them somewhere. I expect it is reasonably simple, but I am quite happy being a twentieth century man, so why bother.

Made an early start this morning. Cleared a lot of fallen wisteria blooms, then got into the rockery and weeded it. I gave it a good watering as it was quite dry two or three inches down.

Drained and refilled the fountain, it was quite mucky. Shows how much dirt there is in the atmosphere as I'd only done the same a few days ago.

Got round to finally emptying the water but that is first in line from the roof and washing it out. A lot of dead leaves and sand from the concrete roof tiles, stinking. Did a fair bit of watering and weeding and sowed another row of spinach and some purple basil, butit was hot and I had a headache, so didn't sow more beetroot or plant out aubergines as intended, tomorrow is another day.

Nothing's that desperate that needs to be done. Though, I may prune off several unwanted wisteria side shoots late today.
The blossom on most has now fallen. Just a lot of foliage, there's always a second bloom later in the year, but it's usually a bit sparse.

The white is still hanging on.

As is the pink

But now it's the turn of the roses.

The azalea in the pot by the front door has finished blooming, now it's the turn of this rose which will have small pink blooms. This had a bit of a struggle earlier with greenfly for some reason I had to strip it twice, but it's OK now.

Most of the azaleas are fading now, but I do like this white one.

Still some rhodos to come out.

One I dead-headed a few days ago has already produced a lot of new growth.

These four in the bed at the bottom of the garden are "romping away."

I've moved the dahlias out of the shed and put them in the two troughs in front of the tea-house. They look a bit "wimpy," but I guess they'll be OK.

Harvested my first Tromboncino Zucchini today. It's a new to me variety...always looking for a better squash...not sure if this is one or not. It is a real climber and easy to harvest.

I'm also in search of a different squash, please keep us posted as you harvest and consume.

Just a point of interest,

If after doing some gardening, you chuck the pair of chinos you've been wearing, plus other clothes, into the washing machine. Then, after they've been washed, you put them in the tumble dryer. When you take them out and you suddenly remember, you'd left a couple of camera SD cards in a back pocket, they still work.

I pulled up some onions & garlic this morning wife made 2 gallons of chili. I tilled garden yesterday evening & again this morning. I hilled soil up on all 5 corn rows. I still can't get, melons, peppers & tomato seeds to grow. Hotter weather might make seeds germinate. Tomato plants that I bought are doing good I stakes them. I forgot to give corn nitrogen when seeds were planted, plants stayed small for a week then I gave plants N and they appear to be 6" taller over night. Zinnias are usually quick to make nice flowers and attract butterflies. All 3 of the Blue bird families left the nest & birds are still here. Both peach trees have more peaches than I can count.

Nothing, went to bed feeling a bit rubbish and woke up like it this morning. Feeling a bit more rubbish tonight, a bit tender feeling with a bit of a sinus head I have had since yesterday, so did nothing, nothing planted out, nothing watered. It's been a bit of a dull day, not too sunny, so hopefully I will get away with it.
The weather forecast says rain next weekend, I do hope so, can't remember the last proper rain and the ground is dry and hard.

I did a bit today.

I decided these heathers in the two troughs were looking a bit scraggy.

P1030199.JPG

In fact, one in the right-hand trough was dead.

P1030200.JPG

As these troughs are in a prominent position, I decided we needed some new plants.

As I had shopping to do, I called in at B&Q and bought eight Impatiens and four Dianthus, plus six new black plastic pots for them in Home Bargains. I made up a mixture of compost and top soil and planted two in each pot. I gave the troughs a good clean too.

So these will do for the summer.

The other four heathers, once I'd blown all the dead wisteria petals out of them, don't look too bad.

P1030206.JPG

They may go back in the troughs at the end of the year.

This is the other azalea I bought in B&Q a couple of months ago, but this one was only £10.

It flowered too early to have a turn by the front door.

The first taste was passed with flying colors. Sweeter than typical zucchini and no bitter aftertaste.

Now I want to see how long it produces as we get into high temps of summer.

New potatoes are far too valuable to be without. We raise two crops spring and fall and that pretty well keeps us continuously supplied...but to extend both crops some and use excess we like to can new potatoes.

Today, put away a few jars of Yukon Gold...
