I seem to struggle with knowing "what" to do and "when" to do it. Is this a problem others have?
I think what to do is a matter of experience and knowledge. When to do it is mostly a matter of common sense and understanding your weather. What to do is easy.....just ask. When to do it is a local matter best addressed by local gardeners.

Slugs and creeping charlie.
But neither of those are really what or when problems. :)

Gophers hands down. I could do so much more without them.

Slugs, mint, and creeping charlie are the biggest problems in my garden. ( Mint.)

My only "when" problem is a "want" problem, also. I know that if I want to start plants inside 6-8 weeks early, I have to wait 'til March 20-April 3. Problem is, I start missing my flowers and veggies, and I want to start them in February. Every year I have to stop myself from planting things way too early!! :(

A lot of rain.
Many new plants every spring leads to the problem of "Where to plant?" And "When to care?"
Hares think that my garden is "all inclusive" for hares.

That's my biggest problem, so, so big of a problem it makes everything else seem to be not an issue. I probably need ten acres...

Perhaps you are smarter than me. :) But if I get an increase in my land, I will increase the number of plants. And I'll think again where to plant it.
I do not know what specifically makes me so stupid, but it works!
