Hi,

Blackie's here this morning so it's wet; dark and cold.

I was determined to get into the workshop early this morning so very quietly wandered down before 9 o'clock getting wet courtesy of Blackie and I gently closed the workshop door behind me; I managed a full half hour before today's interruption kicked in; with a pair of latex gloves on my hands and painting coach lamp components a dark shadow appeared at the doors and there was a knock; your neighbours at #19 are out would you take in a parcel for them please? Off with my gloves in order to sign using a finger tip then pick up where I had left off; I'm a guy so cannot multi task; these constant interruptions ruin my concentration; how strange that Bron and I are now in for the third day expecting 25 kg of bird nuts to arrive but neighbours parcels have no problem at all reaching us.

Pity you don't live near Logan then I could find you a light job standing guard with a machine gun to repel visitors; I hope your back continues to improve but it will take time and frustrate you because you can't do what you want to do.

Blackie is my constant companion although summer last year was exceptional due to Blackie and his sister Gale taking a long holiday which is very rare indeed; below is a picture of Blackie at midday in the middle of our joke called summer two years ago as I was up scaffolding pointing with tarpaulin to protect me; whilst doing this pointing I was running my Hydrovane compressor hooked up to an air chisel sending debris in all directions when something caught my attention; I was fully wrapped up against the weather and with full safety kit on; just below me at the end of our pathway was a little girl toddler waving something at me; how dangerous was this; I put the air chisel down and came off the scaffolding; the little girl was standing on the pathway to our bungalow side just below the scaffolding but two adults a man and woman were standing by the roadside; why Jehovah Witnesses put this little girl in danger beggars belief. It never ever lets up here.

I was just going to post this when the landline phone rang; please press so and so for services; another number now blocked. GRRRRRRR.

I can't sit at the keyboard and I can't get into the workshop without hassle?

On a positive note I'm still here to moan. :)

Kind regards, Colin.

Morning Colin and thanks yes my back is slowly improving.
It would be nice to live by you with a machine gun to stop visitors from your work.

I think we have the sister of blacky here today. :)

Thanks Colin. :) That's the view from my back garden and it never fails to amaze me what ever the weather.

I think you might find you'll have some snow before this coming week is out.

We've had frost on top of the snow today and sunny until mid afternoon. -1C/30F

Thanks Sheal; I understand your feelings; I too enjoy looking at our back garden; it's a steep slope and the grass is meadow hay; every year the grass was more moss than grass and cutting it with the petrol mower gave me a good workout; I decided to get rid of most off the grass/moss so created beds with grass paths. Now I've exchanged mowing grass to weeding but once the ground cover plants/bushes establish I'm sure it will work well.

I thought grass cutting using the petrol mower was hard graft until Bron kindly bought me a new petrol Hyundai rotavator; dragging the rotavator to the top of the mountain left me standing for five minutes trying to get my breath back whilst trying to balance the rotavator; I don't need to join a gym. Now all the hard work is done with the roots and stones removed it's a pleasure to use the rotavator; I no longer need the rotavator but as I enjoy playing with it I'll keep it.

Kind regards, Colin.:)

Our neighbours cats Harvey (b&w) and Max (tabby) practicing a stand off. The garden has been evolving over the last 31 years; digging out by hand and laying heavy flags building dry stone walls and building the shed all were excellent exercise and unlike paying gym fees whilst wasting lots of energy I put my energy to good use saving a fortune with something to show for it.

Hi,

May I suggest you move here to Yorkshire in the UK DM then I'm sure you'd get more than enough rain. :)

With a maximum of 3C today it's feeling cold but it's nice in the workshop with the heater switched on.

We had our first snow last night; it was snowing as we went to bed but the snow had disappeared this morning no doubt having seen the new all climate tyres now fitted to the Yeti so it couldn't torment me and gave up to pester someone else?

Kind regards, Colin.

Hows things going with your weather? :)
The stormy bit just passed on by. We had a tornado warning for about 20 minutes because they spotted one but it is just not that day, still too early I guess. Now we go from a high of 67 today to a high of 38 tomorrow with all this water to freeze tonight. You know that reminds me, every 10 years or so I lose my wife down the front steps due to clear ice. Broken tailbone every time. I think I better remind her about tomorrow or she will go out to feed the birds and wham!

Well my fingers are crossed she's ok and go and warn her in case you forget...I just hope the tornado keeps clear of your way

Thanks for asking; yes busy as normal in the workshop; I finally got around to sorting the workshop out this morning; all the power tools are now stored neatly ready for action; they had been scattered around under benches; I've also got a lot of my woodturning blanks and decorating sundries also sorted in dedicated places so I now know where most things are. It was forecast 5C maximum here today but this afternoon I've enjoyed a good hour washing and leathering dry our Skoda Yeti; it was so nice in the sunshine I didn't at all feel cold so I checked under the bonnet (hood) and also topped up the adblue; what a truly wonderful day today turned out to be; left alone to potter around in peace without a single interruption to distract me; if only every day were like today. :)

Our central heating is earning its keep and I'm now using the electric fan heater in the workshop so life is brilliant; after doing the three supermarket shopping first thing tomorrow morning whoopee another workshop day is planned; Tuesday is Bron's day so a trip out to the stores but I might manage an hour in the workshop later in the day.

Kind regards, Colin.
