Ok first off it's a bummer watering with a pot watered so I use hose and Tap Water. So far so good even with Chlorine.

PH from Tap is running above 7. But I'm using Sunshine 4 many complain about the PH being too low. So I'm thinking the PH will even out.

I can bucket water and use Cal-Mag and bring my PH down.

Thinking of setting up a Water System in my Greenhouse in Black Tubs with fish to warm up the Greenhouse in Winter and water with.

Hey open for ideas or continue?

Likely not. The pH level needed to grow in peat moss is lower than growing in dirt. I can't remember but I'm thinking cal-mag is pH neutral or probably a higher pH, and not acidic.

What is the name of the manicipalty you get your tap water from?

Got a Meter and been checking it. Grow Shop said if Cal-Mag brings down PH use it but it is a pain so I don't.

It takes me hours watering as is.

Lebanon Missouri water quality report.

Try putting 2.5 teaspoons of 5% vinegar per gallon of water. See what that does to bring the pH of the city water down to around a 6.2. If you water dirt with that then try 2 tsp/gal.

If you use a water soluble fertilizer, dont use the vinegar.

Real pain.

Trying to water everything with bucket. So just go many around here do it.

My Son suggested rain water but we are in the middle of a bad drought.

If I get it set up like I want should be ok setting out for the Greenhouse.

But won't help with trees and regular Garden.

Laclede Co Mo water quality report.

About 2 tsp of 5% vinegar per gallon of water should lower it to about 6.2. Since you have a pH meter, be sure to check it.
All fine and dandy but what if I'm using hundreds of gallons?

Today I didn't really water but used 15 gallons.

I know I'm not going to so forget it. Thanks.

Sorry just one of those days. Heck even have to sleep with my wife.

It shouldn't take you long to count out 200 teaspoons of vinegar.

100 gal = 4.16 cups of 5% vinegar.
50 gal = 2.08 cups.
10 gal = 0.4 cups.

You know you have to mix it in the water first then water, right?

Be interesting considering some things take bunch of water and for some reason with one Arm I have trouble carrying a full bucket.

When I water it takes around 4 hours running from the Tap and I'm not sure how many gallons that will be.

Matter fact the water company called wanting to know why I use so much water.

I see. So no bucket carrying. What in the world are you watering?

You could get a syphon injector and pull a dilution of vinegar from a jug or barrel. I'm not sure what the amount of vinegar would be but since you have a pH meter you could do your own testing with the water that comes ouf of the end of the hose.

Fruit Trees, Blueberries, Blackberrys, Asparagus, Strawberries, regular Garden, Potatoes, Tomatoes ,Graps, stuff in the house and Greenhouse.

Had an easy day today just watered in the house. And that took 7 gallons.

I wasn't going to water but they was crying and dry.

We are in a Drought.

Funny thing is I was watering and plants were disappearing. Come to find out my Son was moving them even a Banana Tree. It got replaced on my Deck with a smaller one.

This weekend they are going to finish running water to my Greenhouse.

Electric Company was to come out and put poles in after I had 3 trees cut.

Put gravel on the floor. Supposed to have more brought in for my drive.

I have an Add On that needs finishing, trim put up in my room and really need to build another Chicken House. My wife is getting about a hundred more.

Oh before I forget again I have a small tree about 12 foot tall I have to have moved.

Well just figured out because it is Spring it takes 1500 gallons of water a month for plants. Later it will take double that.

Bit much for a bucket.

Tap water is treated to prevent it from being acid specifically to not dissolve any metals from the pipe system such as metal pipe or solder joints. My house has copper line (yay!! very poisonous!). You will need a non reactive container and system as distilled water or rain is 6pH more or less, 10x more acidic than 7pH. Stainless works but plastic is more common, lines etc. Elevate the tubs and you have a water pressure on an open tank for drip lines.
