Hmm... its looking like my new batch of Sunnies just might bloom in time before the competition ends. For some reason I was always thinking that it ended on the 1st instead the actual date of the 14th. Hmm will keep posted.

Heres my new batch of sunnies. They are all forming flowers other then the one plant witch looks different then the others. I got the seed from a bird feeder that my son made in school. It was all black, but the seedling was way bigger then any that I have grown before. Thinking maybe its a mammoth. Its the plant at the top on the 1st picture. Maybe ill have some new entries in a couple of weeks. Guess we will see. Hope everyone else is doing well.

When I returned from the trip, I saw a sad picture. Wasps came instead of birds. A lot of wasps and one beetle ate leaves and stems. Then the hornet came flying. He drove away the wasps, but the beetle turned out to be brave.

So, the poor sunflower suffered from birds and insects. With the risk to life, I took one sunflower and ran around the garden for a while, so that a flock of wasps lost me.

Then I began to think what a sunflower looked like. I thought it might be an owl. My boys said it was an elephant. But when I posted a photograph of @zigs , he said it looked like a Pokemon. :D

(I ask not to take this as a self-portrait, not paying attention to the signature. :sneaky: This is just a participant of the charismatic nomination!)

When I started taking photos, the wasps found me. And I had to wave this poor sunflower so that the wasps flew away. As a result of the battle, the sunflower lost strategically important parts, and I got a bite in my hand. But we won this battle! :D

So now I call my Sunflower "Veteran of the Pokemon War!":D

Update on new sunnies. Looking like i may have some that will make it just in time to enter, if they are worthy. I'm just excited to have some more seeds on the way, lol. Birds and insects got to most of mine. Anyone else have some entries still in the works??
