The 2018 Sunflower Growing Competition!

Mini is about ready to be cut and hung to dry. Potted sunflower is taking a kot longer to bloom then the one in the garden, and both were started at the same exact time. New batch are coming along nicely as well. I think the one we will enter as our biggest will be blooming in about a week or so.

Potted sunny finally bloomed. My daughter is soo excited lol this one is all hers.

Her flower has bloomed all the way now. Florets are now blooming pretty good. Hopefully whatever little pest that keeps eating the sunnys in the garden will leave her's alone.

Another one of my "Mini" sunflowers bloomed this morning. At 13 inches tall it is larger then the first one, but is still very pretty and it's amazing to see such small sunflowers.

It looks like you have a good bit of them growing too.

Thank you, @Treblot84 ! There were many, but the birds made changes in my plans. I share sunflower seeds with them in winter, but they think that I should always share.
But I'm not offended!

I feel your pain @Larisa ! I am experiencing the same thing with my sunnys and the birds that live on my property and frequent my garden. It seems to be mostly the yellow finches that are eating all my seeds up, and they are so quick to flee that I can't ever get a picture of them purched on top of the flowers. I planned on letting them feast on the flowers in the garden anyway, but some pictures first would have been appreciated, lol!
