Thank you, @zigs, I'm touched. I looked at the plant first, then looked around and had a "Hey, wait... Oh!" moment. Then I had a big smile and a little burst of happy! Thank you!

Many sunflower plants growing here and there, all are from birds scattering seed around. The tallest is at 3ft 10in.

This is my poor fellow. He already withstood several hurricanes with a downpour and a strong wind! I call his "boatswain".
Probably, I too will be late for the competition, but I'm proud of my boatswain!

The remote growing is a great idea zigs!

My front yard flowers are about twice as tall as the backyard ones. Not sure what is causing it.

We are supposed to have some wind today. I am afraid I may lose my sunflowers to the wind so I took a picture.

Children and sunflowers all grown by yours truly hahaha!

@ReslerMomma, yours are looking great!

I planted three kinds in early June but only the little short ones are flowering. Plus I have one about 3' tall from I assume bird poop.
Fence is 5' so my tallest one is about 6' tall, flowering soon.
