Between weather that I cannot control, and my neighbor killing many of my spring plants after she had her lawn sprayed for weeds, I'm thinking hydroponics is in my future.

Good luck with your weather issues.

Might as well forget about Corn it won't make before it gets dry.

Back when I was farming if Corn didn't make we had the option of chopping it for Silage.

@Heirloom farmer1969, Does your garden have clay soil or sandy soil?

In my part of Kentucky the best farmland is flat bottom land like my land . The soil is sort of sandy because of past flooding.
Although we have built the soil up over the years by planting clover, alafia and other cover crops .
The area where I have my cornhàs been planted the past two years was flooded two years ago when we got that once in one hundred year storm and it's a little sand for about the first inch or two but it raised one of the best corn crops I have ever grew last summer !!
Here's a picture of me getting my ground ready for a corn planting

I was going to buy a house and acreage in Missouri River bottoms.

Dad says look at where it is. I didn't buy it on his advice. Then came the flood of '93 the house washed away.

The flood also left 5-10 foot of sand. Once again here comes the Government bought all the land. Before that they stopped Barges from going up and down the River.
