I bought a few hydrangea last year. 2 are pannicle hydrangeas and those are fine, growing big and producing flowers. My other 4 hydrangeas are growing pretty slow, only 1 of them is about to bloom but growing slow. They get morning sun and no afternoon sun.
Where I planted them used to be this giant 16 foot bush. I tilled the soil, I added compost last year and planted all the hydrangeas in fall and spaced them about 3.5 feet from each other. Beginning of March, I had the siding replaced on my house, the workers stepped on them and broke their branches. I am guessing this is the reason they are growing a little slow and not blooming this year? I fertilized in spring.
I attached pictures. They are growing but slow, and look healthy. One of the hydrangeas has darker leaves, I forget the name.
