I don't know if I killed my orchid. I was told to cut the stem after the petals come off and to be patient with it but I'm worried because the leaves are discolored. Can someone help me? I've attached a picture for review. I watered it and placed it in an area with more sunlight today because the orchid isn't looking too good.

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

This Moth Orchid (Phalaenopsis cv.) is indeed ailing. Place it in bright indirect light, not direct sun. Inspect the potting media to make certain it drains well. Let the media mostly dry before the next irrigation, but do not let it become completely dry or remain dry.
Fertilize monthly (or weekly weakly) with a complete, liquid fertilizer.

Moth Orchid (Phalaenopsis Amabilis) Indoor Care Guide

Older leaves tend to yellow naturally. If younger leaves start to change color, they may be getting too much sun and need to be moved somewhere shadier. But underfeeding can also cause this. If leaves are becoming darker, it’s a sign of too little sunlight. Move it to a brighter location.

Here is the complete guide:
