New turf going brown in places

What I would not do is use a post emergent. Too stressful on new grass. In the fall a pre-emergent program would begin if it were mine. That said, currently the sun is down, its 80f and we have +75% humidity at a minimum. Prime fungal conditions are at hand. But then every grass harbors leaf spots and such. I would consider how that grass would harbor fungi that might inflame itself when meeting a border plant it finds sexy.

You could have put some starter fertilizer down before you laid the sod but you can still do it however you'll have to wait about another month or so. Use starter and not regular fertilizer. After about 2 weeks the roots should start taking hold. You can confirm this by lifting a section and seeing if it is sticking by the roots. In the meantime there isn't anything that you can do with the brown spots. Just give it time.
