Do i lay rolawn turf forward or backwards?

Hi
I'm looking to lay new lawn on Friday and was wondering do i lay the lawn going forwards or backwards?
I'm thinking if i lay the lawn coming backwards i've less chance of damaging the new turf?
Can any one advise me on this?

???? What difference would it make as you have to roll the turf after laying anyway? It has to make good root to soil contact and the more stepping on it the better I would presume.

Given the current weather and imminent hosepipe ban, now is a terrible time to lay a new lawn! I'd wait until the autumn if it were me.

Sorry to say that laying a turf lawn in this heat is a barmy idea you will never keep it wet enough to grow.. Can you wait a while
