It's been a busy couple of weeks gathering beans and sweet corn for me!!
We started picking the greasy beans on the 27th of July and have finally got most of them, at least for round one.
Now if the rain doesn't stop me tomorrow, it's time to start picking the white half-runners!!
So far, it's looking like im going to have a better growing season than I thought earlier!!!

Those are some well-formed beans there...bulging out and looking good.
My first thoughts too. What did you say they were, Mtn greasy beans or something?
Will you shell a few and take a picture?
Are they string beans or stringless? Strings I assume?

They are called greasy beans. I've eaten about every been they are and nothing can compare with the taste. I'll shell a few tonight when I get home and post a picture

I picked 3 pounds of jalapenos to make cowboy candy today. I thought I had about 3 pounds but it was only about 2 so had to pick more. But found a strange one that was growing another jalapeno out of the top of it. I thought maybe a seed sprouted in it but no. Anyway I cut that off. It was a lot of work cutting them up and I still want to do another 6 pounds over the next couple days.

Those look so good friend you did a good job this year. Thanks for sharing your garden with us. When I first looked at the top photo my fingers and thumbs started hurting. My Grandma used to grow a lot of green beans, black eye peas, and pole beans every year, and guess who got to shell them? I miss my Grandma but not those peas.

@Heirloom farmer1969 I am sorry, I didn't mean to hijack your thread. I just noticed I posted in the wrong one, I thought this was the what's growing in the garden thread or whatever it's called. I need to pay more attention when I post things, it's not the first time I got threads mixed up lol.

Are they string beans or stringless? Strings I assume? Yes they have strings. I picked a few more bushels yesterday to share with our local senior citizens center which is also the local food bank since last year's flood. Here are a few shelled out. They're dark brown and speckled when dry.

The sweet corn has done very well this year also!!
Every single stalk has a big ear of corn.
I don't know if it was all the rain we've had or what, but I don't think I've ever grown this good of a crop of sweet corn.
I managed to gather 41 dozen yesterday evening before the rain.
I've still got 50 or 60 more dozen to pick. Hopefully it'll stay dry so I can finish it off this evening.

Jalapeno pepper is one of my favorites to grow and eat.
But this year, I've had nothing but bad luck with them. I'm hoping to harvest enough to make a few jalapeno poppers if im lucky.
