Idea for an old mailbox....

I love the idea of using mailboxes in the garden. It's a great way to keep gloves and pruners and various tools on hand where you need them so they are available when you need them. I usually see photos of the large mail boxes that sit on a post used for this, but recently I saw one of the smaller ones that open envelope style and it's just so smart!

We do have mailboxes here, in Poland, but unfortunately, they wouldn't make nice planters. They look like small, flat boxes attached to fences. Nothing special.
I would love to have a mailbox like this one:

I like the idea of using an old mailbox as a planter. It would give your garden a sort of country feel. You could couple it with a wash basin or one of those horse trophs and have a very interesting and fun looking garden.
