Honey suckle hell needed

I’ve never grown a climber before so can someone tell me what I should be doing with this now it’s growing

Guessing you are trying to grow this? What variety of honeysuckle? What we get here I would spray with herbicides.

Thanks. I thought after flowering if it does,this is its first year ,waiting hopefully for this to happen I should cut out the old stems? The thicker ones?

First off, there are several types of honeysuckles. I have one that grows up from a single trunk from the ground up the corner of my deck and lays across nicely about 5 feet in length. It has been there going on 20 years. It blooms 4 X a season and attacks hummingbirds. I truly do nothing with it, as it keeps its size well and does not go any longer/higher. In the winter, leaves are dropped and the twiggy plant lays dormmate there all winter. This particular one does not have a fragrance but was selected because it is a hummingbird magnate.

Research of plants for a garden does decrease future stress and saves money.
