I am currently planting dragon fruits in my farm which should number to about 4000 cuttings and a thousand post for these and will hopefully expand in the later years. Does anybody here have any experience planting the dragon fruit? If so, can you share your experiences by replying here. Thank you in advance and more power to all of us.

Welcome to the forum, I've never grown Dragon fruit for a food crop but have grown them in pots, and had some luck getting them to bloom. My growing season is too short and cold for them to grown out side. I do know they like a lot of sun and room to grow. Wish I could be more help.

We have a fruiting dragon fruit vine (I'm not sure if this is the correct term). It is actually a cactus that is easy to grow and maybe any type of soil is okay. Our dragon fruit is the purple variety that is very sweet. However, it only bears fruit during the period from July to October. Although we see some dragon fruit plantations with some fruits any time of the year, we still have to discover how to make it bloom after that fruiting period.

That is truly wonderful mam and the red or purple variety that you have there is the Hylocerus polyrhizus and is very rich in vitamin C and beta carotene. The white variety is Hylocerus undatus and is commonly used as an ingredient used for the Millionaire's Salad and is very in demand in Hotel's and Restaurants so the Dragon Fruit is very promising.
