Did I prune my basil correctly? Pictures

You got the idea. Basil is almost a weed once it get established, and grows without much effort. I have 8 green and 4 purple plants and cannot keep up with it. I use sit in everything I preserve.

Yep. I pinch off the leaf clusters to eat, and pinch off flowers so leaf production stays vigorous. I only have two plants but they keep going all year until hard frost.

I would say you're doing it right. :)

That is how I prune my Italian sweet basil too, even though I just go by my guts! Now, I know I haven done it correctly.
