Two weeks ago, these beans were standing in water from all the rain and weren't growing any because of the unseasonably cool weather.
I may not be picking by the Fourth of July weekend this year, but I feel better about their potential later in the summer!!

Looking good. What variety of beans...blue lake? but you are in Kentucky so maybe Kentucky wonders? The cross between blue lake and Kentucky wonder makes a wonderful bean.

I've had my fill of 90 plus this week.
Just think...if you were in Texas, you would have 10-12 weeks of 100 deg to look forward too...but the reward is fantastic fall/winter.

These are Tennessee volunteer half runners, heirloom greasy beans and what we in Kentucky call fall beans or October beans .
I've got people that come from seven states to get the greasy and fall beans so I'm hoping for the best.
I always grow a couple rows of blue lake but this year I had the worst trouble getting them to sprout. Every time they would start to pop threw we would get downpours which drowned them out. I replanted twice and finally gave up , plowed them up and planted more fall beans.

I just ordered some Appalachian Greasy Bean seeds for fall planting and the Tennessee volunteer half runners. Couldn't find any "October" bean seed. I'll give these a try this fall when typically, green beans really produce well here.

Anyone that recognizes the superiority of Honey Select corn is someone who merits attention to trying out their bean seeds. 🤠

Those fall beans are very scarce.
Probably the only place you would find them is through seed savers exchange.
Keep us informed this fall how your greasy beans work turn out which I'm sure with your experience they'll do great .

Very nice. Looks like there's a big difference in the before and after. Wishing you luck.
