it would be really cool to bring the outdoors, inside-- not restricting plants to indoor lighting alone, but also supplementing with lights as necessary-- controlling temperature and humidity-- maybe even designing some kind of ecosystem. it would also serve as a bedroom, which will help contribute to the synergy of the ecosystem, the person who sleeps there being a part of it. maybe like, also introducing some kind of wildlife , whatever is most appropriate, to co exist. the system would have to be designed ahead of time, figuring out how to craft the right balance, which could all be measured afterwards with technology (maintaining a balanced system) -- this would be so cool. and like, just beyond the door would be like a normal house, but stepping into the room would be like going outside, inside-- maybe down the hall there is another room where it simulates the beach, and so on and so forth. like traveling the world inside a house. maybe one room has a waterfall and like, a small library at the base, tucked in a cave, so you could read books in that little cave inlet looking out from inside the waterfall, outwards. we would have to engineer some kind of passage way into the inlet because you wouldnt want to get wet right before you sat down in a chair to study or read of course. and maybe of course one room was like, vegetation of fruits and vegetables-- just walkin in and grabbing some food off the vine.

You could always practice using a large fish tank. Seriously there are some beautiful examples of what you described miniaturised on utube.
