I've read the Black Eyed Susan is an annual, but can also be a perennial.

At the onset of winter mine is looking a bit sad.

Shall I merely dead head, or can this plant be cut right back foliage and all ready for next year?

Thanks,

Thomas

Cut back Black Eyed Susans in late Fall when foilage has browned and the plants have gone completely dormant. Leave stems about 3 to 4 inches taller than the basal leaves.

Thanks Louis! Shall I leave basal leaves on each stem?
