These popped up from seed quickly? About a week. Just put seed in a pot. Covered pot with a white plastic bag. Obviously holding humidity well. I could see it on the opposite side of bag. We're dry here. Right now getting down to 14 or 12% humidity mid afternoon. Getting up to 105 for a few days.
Then I followed AI advise. Said as soon as they germinate and pop up. To take the clear plastic off the top. Mine is white. Apply a grow light constantly. Tried this. After two hours, they lost the green in the little leaves. Started looking yellowish. I decided no thank you. Went back to the bag. It gets direct sun in morning. Then a little overflow grow light from a fern. Probably 100 candle power if lucky. It's back to heavy humidity showing on inner side of bag. Leaves are back to good healthy green color. They are still tiny. One little leaf on each.
.
MY QUESTION: How long do you think I should run these like this?
I do plan on putting the Astible on the front porch in the same pot, on a spot I had a fern.
.
To babble on: The AI said these will take 3 to 5 weeks to germinate and come up. Took a week. Doh!
.
On the humidity. Good inside bag. But it's very dry here. My little swamp cooler can't raise the humidity much. I have windows open. Common to do with a swamp cooler. A big swamp cooler would definitely raise the humidity. And cool a bunch. At the peak temp today. I'm going to attach ice containers on the swamp cooler to help it cool. Saw a video on doing this. Can fill plastic bottles with water and add about 3 to 4 tablespoons of salt to the water before freezing. Make it last longer. The ice containers I have are store bought ones (Blue Ice). Using just because I have them.
