I have a few onion plants in the basement. I started them by rooting the ends on onions. Some of the stems are pretty long now.
1, Is it OK to put them into the ground now, and harvest them either in fall or spring?
2. When starting Onions this way, what is the ideal time to transplant the plants into the ground?
3. What time of the year are onion plants dormant and most active?
Note that I planted some Scallons last spring, forgot about them, and harvested the biggest scallions I ever saw this spring.
Thanks
