Hi!

I'm growing some water spinach on my balcony and both times I tried it I get white spikes on the leafs and some green on the stems. It's bonded to the leafs really well as it's a part of it. Not all leafs has it but maybe 30%.

Thanks for any suggestions what it is, and how to get rid of it! I'm growing it with hydroponics.

I have the exact same problem! Did you ever find out what it was? I am growing mine indoors next to windows and suspecting it’s some insect eggs but can’t be certain.

What it is, is called edema. It is a water retention problem and shows up in many forms. Google edema on plants images and you will see.
