When will my onion go to seed?

Hey all, I have a quick question.

I have a White Spanish onion, several actually, and Im wondering when they will go to seed. It wont be long until it starts snowing here and Im worried that they wont go to seed in time. Any advice?

awww man thanks...How should I go about that? Just dont touch em, let them hibernate or whatever it is plants do in the winter? Can they survive a -40 winter?
