I need help Identifying this weed. It grows in my backyard during the early Spring. When I pull it out, it sticks to my clothing.

This is Cleavers or Goose-grass (Galium aparine), in the Madder Family (Rubiaceae). Though native to Eurasia, North Africa, the British Isles, and Japan; it is also a widespread weed in North America and other parts of the world. It can scramble over other vegetation with the help of the hooked trichomes on its leaves and stems.

Yes, Goose grass. They comeback every year in the winter for me and I allow them to stay and reseed themselves, because you can use the seeds to make coffee.

So when the apocalypse happens I'll still have coffee(y)

Cleaver coffee, I've heard of that, but never tried it. Perhaps someday I'll have the opportunity. What does it taste like? Reviews are 'mixed'.

Actually, Galium aparine is in the same family (Rubiaceae) as Coffee (Coffea arabica, C. canephora, etc.), but that is hardly a guarantee of taste, as there is more than 13,500 species in the family, and many are bitter or poisonous.

I haven't tried it yet either, actually I just learned about it a couple months ago as I was reading up on this plant.
