@EastCoastGarden , this is my garden. With in the many pics you will find , the typical "Ball" shape your thinking about. There are a few types of Lace caps here too, some more "lacy" than others. There are also the Cone shaped ones. Please just get a book or google. And always know, not every hydrangeas is pruned the same way in the fall. I have some, I would NEVER prune. It takes time to learn all this stuff. I live in Chester County ,PA. Parkesburg, Pa. if ever this way I'd be happy to walk you about. take care.

Truly this fall I need to get my act together. The Annabelle Hydrangeas in the front of the house are too big, the babies need to be cut out and potted. I will probably be able to pot up to 6 babies when done. So anyone living in Chester County, here they are.
