That is an attractive Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) cultivar, with deeply multi-colored ray flowers.
Some cultivars that may look similar include 'Autumn Beauty', 'Earthwalker, 'Evening Sun', 'Little Becka', 'Shock-o-lat', etc.
How tall were the plants that you grew?

How tall were the plants that you grew?

Just checked, it was the Royal Velvet F1. They grew to about 6 feet, once the main flower died back, smaller flower buds started shooting out alone the sides of the stem. I was surprised when this happened, I thought sunflowers only produced one flower head and that was the end of its lifecycle. But its continuing to shoot out new flower buds.

Thank you for that indormation. Helianthus annuus 'Royal Velvet F1' seems to be a cultivar bred and distributed in Australia. It also sounds like it would be a good choice for cut flowers.
