Smallest Sunflower?

Does anyone know what the smallest single plant size is for the sunflower plant helianthus annuus? This is one i grew this year, and i cant find one smaller anywhere online. World record?? Lol would be cool to find out.

@Treblot84 I'm not sure whether there is a world record for smallest sunflower, but yours looks like a definite contender! It's a cute little thing

I did find a breed that is supposed to be the smallest breed of sunflower cald "Elf" but even those get 16 inches tall or more. So, not sure how to continue on with this investigation, but I will deff keep trying. The little one is now producing it's seeds and ill be growing more of them next year. After I get a hardy supply ill send seeds to anyone who is interested.

world record smallest Sunflower (according to Guinness) A fully mature sunflower measuring just 56 mm (2 1/5 in) was grown by Michael Lenke of Lake Oswego, Oregon, USA, in 1985 using a patented bonsai technique. (This year I have one 4.5 inches)

I think it's safe to say, mine was just a little smaller than that one. Still trying to find out how Guinness measures, just the bloom or from ground up. (this one was even smaller than the 4.5" one)

Interesting grow. Almost looks like a dandelion it's so small. Definitely keep some seeds if you can.

Taking your word for it since you know where you got it, but it looks a lot like a Safflower.

A safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) is quite different than a Sunflower (Helianthus annuus), even a very small one.
The two can be readily distinguished because Carthamnus, in the Thistle tribe (Cynareae), has capitula (flower heads) that are ligulate, like a thistle, while Helianthus will have the classic radiate capitula we associate with daisies and sunflowers.
