It's been REALLY hot for the past 2 days! My herbs are really taking a beating with this heat, so I moved them to a much more shady spot.

What are your favorite crops to grow in the summer? I need some inspiration so I can take advantage of all this heat.

Don't confuse "heat" with sun rays. Some of my plants, including tomatoes, are called full-sun loving plants, but they can't handle full-sun conditions here and you live even further south, i.e. the sun rays are even more powerful.

Sunflowers do well with all day Florida sun.

Even here on the edge of the Great Plains our summer sun is intense and Tomatoes like a shade cloth for a few hours in the afternoons.
