Snake plant rotting?!

i bought this snake plant yesterday and i’m really new to owning plants, i’m not sure what’s wrong with it and if i should be worried about it affecting my other plants

This looks a callused injury or sunburn, not rot, If so, there is nothing to worry about. It is just an old scar.
However, if this necrotic area proceeds to enlarge in size without other explanation, remove the leaf with a clean knife or secateurs

secateurs. only the cool people use those. I like scissors for precise cuts. There are some in betweens that can deal with woodier branches. These Fiskars for example.
