I have a recently planted rose of sharon, back in May. It started blooming about 2 weeks ago but is losing it’s flowers rapidly. But new ones continue to bloom.

Wondering if it’s a watering issue, too much or too little?

Your tree looks good and you don't have anything to worry about. Hibiscus flowers don't last very long once they bloom. I would remove the hardwood mulch touching the tree bark. It's not good to let wood mulch touch the plant.

Thanks! I’ll move that away. I was just surprised because all those fallen flowers were in 24 hours. Also noticed smaller ants around the base today.
