I noticed the leaves on some of my carrots were turning reddish/purple. I have been researching this and all that seems to come up is aster yellow. I know if this is my issue I need to pull all the carrots because the bacteria spreads, but the carrots I planted are a variety type, purple, red, yellow etc... i am having a hard time finding whether or not the purple/red carrots produce purple/red leaves. I want to make sure before I start pulling perfectly good carrots. Just curious if anyone has had experience with this?

All carrots have green leaves no matter what color they are. Pull up a carrot and see if it is covered with little hairs and taste it to see if it is bitter. If they are it is probably aster yellow

All carrots have a few hairs. I am saying a LOT of hairs. See what the root tastes like.
I wouldn't say a lot actually. I will go by the garden this afternoon and taste for myself but this morning my friend tried the couple I pulled up and she said they tasted normal.

Then it is probably nothing. Leaves of all kinds of plant turn different colors for a variety of reasons, weather changes in particular. Also over fertilization can cause it. A plants inability to uptake a particular nutrient can also cause it

It is probably a lack of calcium or magnesium. Apply 1 cup of Epsom salt per gallon of water and water in you affected plants
